Rough ideas for the book cover

Well you folks have been waiting awhile for an update and I have one finally for you. I have the first roughs for the idea for the cover and I thought that I would share them here for you. Personally I like them both, so I'm thinking a combination of the two.

Book Update!

Well folks, here's the skinny on the latest. I have proceeded to throw the wood and the kindling under Mr. Lim and am still awaiting the rough of the book cover. Tonight's big milestone is that low and behold I have an ISBN for the book! With that in place, I can finally wrap up the innards of Cursed and the Damned! The only thing that is holding this back now is the art, but I know that ALL great things take time, so here's to hoping and waiting!

New Artwork soon?

I contacted Mr. Lim last week and he said he would have the rough for Cursed and the Damned sometime this week. I'm looking forward to seeing what he has to bring to the table. I'm really looking forward to getting this book out too. One step at a time. I just hope everything goes according to schedule, but I know life might get in the way. Still I'm aiming for the beginning of the year.

Whoa it's been awhile

Greetings all from the 'Garden State'. I'm here in New Jersey on vacation and I finally have time to write in my blog. Things have been hectic for me the past few weeks with the horrors of work, but at least with this little vacation I can get a little time to myself and think. Alas, I haven't done any work on a project of my own, but I have helped my friend Ralph who works at Marvel Comics with something.

I'm sure you all know that there are times you can feel burnt out on anything! Sometime you just have to step away and look at things with fresh eyes. Well he kind of like that with his job and that nothing new and exciting was happening when it came to work. I understand how that feels as most of you do as well. Can you believe that a simple idea that came to me when I was tired might have been the thing that got the passion and drive back into him? I love how my best thoughts come when I'm tired. :D

I'm not going to say what the idea was, just in case it's something that might actually go somewhere for them, but it was so simple and at the same time opened up so many possibilities. I just hope the rest of the people at Marvel like the idea as well. It's possible that it might go somewhere and really shake things up.

Hopefully soon I will have more info on my own projects, but it's nice to help others out as well.

Popular opinion and reviews suck!

Well I found out that some of my friends aren't reading my blog. I do have to say that I am kind of surprised but at the same time I was given a pretty good reason.

"I am not following your blog about your book.  I want it to be a total surprise when I read it.  (I never even read the reviews on books before I read them.) "

Now, thinking about this a little bit more I realize that popular opinion isn't always the best thing, or even unpopular opinion. Take movies for example. Every time some damn movie critic says that they absolutely HATE a movie, I usually take that as my cue that I might actually enjoy this film. Sometimes, I find they're right and it does suck, but that's usually a rare thing.

The big thing here is if you like something, then THAT'S what matters and screw everyone else's opinion. If you don't like my writing, that's perfectly fine as well. This may also explain why I never was able to pick up an agent. They remind me of reviewers. Perhaps all those rejections were a great thing...

Sigh

You know there are times when you know you should be working...and I did do a little typing today, but alas I just wasn't feeling it today. I'm sure it has to do with my mood, but maybe tomorrow I will get more done. Being down never makes for a happy writer and sometimes your work suffers for it, even if you do write. When I think of it that way, perhaps it's better to just take a step back.

One step at a time

Alas I don't have too much to report this Friday, except for the fact that today during my off time at work, I was able to finish another chapter of the sequel, so hopefully that will make some of my followers happy. I'm getting to the point of the story called the climax, which means all the shit is getting ready to come to a head. So that in itself is exciting to me, because causing trouble for my characters is always the highlight of my day. lol.

Anyway, by the time I post next, this current chapter shall be finished and typed up.
